The Timber Trade Industrial Association is saddened to hear of the sudden death of John Halkett, great friend and passionate supporter of the timber and forest products industry. His experience and reputation ranged far and wide, at home and internationally where he wore many different hats in his unstinting devotion to global timber management.
His most recent role was head of the General Manager of the Timber Importers Federation as well as heading the management team on a number of respected Timber publications such as the Timber Trader News.
He was always most generous of his time and advice for our Members, and he will be deeply missed by our Association and the forestry industry as a whole, which has lost one of its greatest advocates.Our commiserations go out to his family. May he rest in peace.
