Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes No.2) Act 2024

TTIA has today circulated to Members, by email, a summary of the latest IR changes passed by Parliament on 12 February.

The Loopholes No. 2 Act amends the Fair Work Act 2009 (C’th) and related legislation in relation to casual employment; enterprise bargaining; workplace delegates’ rights; right to disconnect, sham contracting; underpayment of wages; the definition of employment; ‘employee-like’ workers performing digital platform work and regulated road transport industry contractors; unfair contracts; and modern awards.

TTIA, as the only federally registered, national Association specifically focused on industrial relations in the timber products industry, will ensure Members have the resources and support to manage these workplace changes.  TTIA will be running face to face Member briefing sessions in July and August as the legislation takes effect.

In the meantime, if you are not a Member, TTIA offer pro rata savings if you join for the remaining financial year.  You are invited to contact the Association on the TTIA Hotline (02 9264 0011) or by email: ttia@ttia.asn.au.

As a Member, you will receive access to HR templates, policies, checklists and training from in-house legally qualified staff.  TTIA is the only Association that can help you navigate workplace relations challenges specifically in the timber products industry.
