CHANGES TO PAID PARENTAL LEAVE

On 18 March 2024, the Paid Parental Leave Amendment (More Support for Families) Bill 2023 was passed by the Senate. The Paid Parental Leave Amendment (More Support for Families) Act 2024 (the ‘Act’) commences on 26 March 2024.

The Act implements changes to the Paid Parental Leave Act 2010 (“PPL Act”), which includes changes to the Paid Parental Leave Scheme (PPL Scheme). Members were provided with a summary of the changes in an email on 25 March.
